Changes in Google’s policy will lead MSMEs to pay more for Gmail

According to Vishal Prakash Shah, CEO of an SME-focused IT firm, Google’s latest policy changes will make Gmail four times more expensive for MSMEs as they will be compelled to purchase 2 TB of storage because Google withdrew the ability to upgrade to 100 GB of storage.

The minimum storage requirement of 2 TB would cost Rs 10,100 per user per year. Following these policy changes, Google also has imposed severe restrictions if the MSMEs want to switch to another service provider.

The MSME sector in India will suffer a severe blow because MSMEs have to collectively pay an additional Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore yearly for additional email storage.
